This little city/big town just across the water from Seattle is a hidden gem. From nature wetlands to farmer’s market, Kirkland truly has it all. We have put together the perfect guide for a weekend get-a-way here filled with plenty of good eats, hang out spots + beautiful views, where to work out, and delicious coffee + drinks. And the best part? Everything on here is within walking distance. Enjoy!

Airbnb: We highly suggest this adorable little spot (pictured above). It’s styled to perfection with beautiful views of Lake Washington and walking distance to downtown and the waterfront. Book through Airbnb for $165 per night. Another wonderful option is this luxury penthouse Airbnb for $99 per night that is also walking distance to downtown Kirkland with raving reviews.

Hotel: If you do opt for a hotel, we recommend The Woodmark Hotel for a luxurious stay right on the water or The Heathman for a downtown get-a-way feel.

Deru Market: Pictured above - everything on the menu is local + organic. We highly suggest taking a loved one and splitting a pizza/sandwich and salad with a house-made almond milk latte. And then maybe grab a gigantic slice of cake and cookie to go, too.

Homegrown: This place never disappoints. From sandwiches to bowls to soups, Homegrown uses local & sustainable ingredients to create the most wonderful healthy comfort food.

Isarn Thai Soul Kitchen: All it takes is a peek inside & you can tell it’s delicious. Isarn has authentic Thai food with a lovely atmosphere. Oh, and the chicken wings are a must.

Juanita Bay: If you go just a bit North of downtown (about a 30 minute walk), you will find the cute little neighborhood of Juanita. They have a waterfront park + walkable dock, beach volleyball, tennis courts, open fields, and plenty of restaurants. If you are here during summer, they also have a Farmer’s Market on Fridays from 3-7 pm with local goods and you may just see a bald eagle (or 4) coasting above the water for dinner at around 6 pm.

Wetlands: Make sure to pack your camera if you have one. Juanita Bay Park has amazing protected wetlands that are filled with greenery, turtles, ducks, bird species, frogs, beavers, and fish. You never know what you may find.

Downtown Waterfront: After you’ve grabbed a bite to eat, head down to the downtown waterfront. It has a cute little beach, plenty of neat boats and beautiful views, all in the heart of Kirkland. People watching can be quite fun here, too.

Luxurious Homes: You can walk any which way in Kirkland and find beautiful homes, from craftsman to modern style. Go venture out and find Waverly Way across from Heritage Park along the waterfront - you won’t be disappointed.

The Pursuit: Probably one of the hardest workouts you will ever try, but SO good at the same time. This will work every muscle of your body to the point of exhaustion/shaking. We suggest signing up for Olivia’s class - she has the best playlist and leads the class so well. (Although the price is steep, your first class is free!)

9 Round Fitness: 30 minutes of 9 different stations that include boxing, kicking, push ups, squats, sit-ups and so forth. This is quick, intense and a lot of fun. And, just like The Pursuit, your first class is free.

Zoka Coffee: Pictured above, Zoka is not only Insta-worthy with plenty of plants + a scrabble style menu, they have a dream of a lineup when it comes to drinks: Aztec mocha, Lavendar Chai, Matcha Latte or any kind of latte you could think of. This is a great place to park for a while and read or work.

Urban Coffee Lounge: Nestled in the quaint little Juanita neighborhood with a cozy ambience, they have all kinds of delicious lattes, kombucha on tap and loose leaf tees along with locally made pastries.

Little Brother: Lattes served in a bowl - need we say more? Keep it simple with their Espresso + Milk or branch out and try their Golden Latte.

Bottle & Bull: This is a great place to grab a bunch of small plates and split. While you are at it, order one of their delicious cocktails. Enjoy the playlist + the ambience.

Raw Bar 89: Right up the street from the Kirkland waterfront, Raw Bar 89 serves Japanese, Sushi and Vietnamese at it’s very finest with a lengthy list of drinks.

Brix Wine Bar: Nestled in Juanita Bay, Brix is a cozy place for a nice glass of wine, fresh seafood, tasty mac n cheese, and a great happy hour.
